What is a webinar? Webinar is short for web-based seminar and involves a presentation or workshop conducted over the Internet that has specific start and end times. In contrast to a webcast, which only transmits information in one direction, a webinar is interactive web conferencing that allows audiences direct communication with a presenter. In most cases, the host (presenter) speaks over a standard telephone line while demonstrating information on his computer that the participants simultaneously see live on their computer screens. The webinar audience members can respond with real-time questions or comments over their own phones or on their computers.
