Testimonials

I loved this curriculum! We needed some quiet focused time for my daughter who was 3 1/2 at the start of the school year. She is advanced for her age, and this was not very challenging, but at a young age, I'd rather "school" be easy, and avoid discouraging them when they're still in preschool.
Each lesson contains:
- a story from an illustrated Bible reader, ending with comprehension questions and a prayer highlighting personal applications of the story. The Reader starts with Adam and Eve, and hits major Bible stories throughout the Old and New Testaments, ending with the apostles after ascension, and the Book of Acts. This was by FAR the most valuable part of going through this curriculum! It was such a blessing to be able to introduce my daughter to an entire overview of the Bible, and start laying good foundations!
- a memory verse that correlates with the week's story (there are 3 versions to choose from at the back of the teacher's guide - I cut out KJV and laminated them to make a booklet)
- a number or letter of the alphabet coloring page. They suggest having the student trace over these with their finger, but my daughter was already writing most of her letters and numbers by the time we started, so I had her trace with her pencil and then practice writing a few words that started with the letter.
- multiple worksheets such as: counting, matching, sorting, colors, tracing, patterns, cutting, pasting, etc. Very basic and beginning level, but FUN.
- ideas (in the TG) of crafts, science/nature projects, songs, concepts to introduce, PE activities etc. We did not do every activity listed, but I picked and chose what would be doable for that week. Often I would incorporate the activity suggestions into daily conversations, such as finding the number 3 in the house, finding circles/squares, blending primary colors and things like that.

All in all, we LOVED doing curriculum, and my now 4 year old is begging me to buy her "kindergarten school"! It succeeded at making book learning seem fun to her, and she can't wait to start school again in the fall!

This is a really fun curriculum. My son will not be three for a couple more months, but he has loved getting it out.

My boys ages (2.5 & 3) are in love with this program. We are just on week 2, but they are excited every day to do our home school. They ask about it, and get really excited about it!

I absolutely love the teacher's guide. I bought myself a preschool lesson planning book. I take the teacher's guide and make us a plan for 30 minutes a day of school time. It is working for us, and I'm thrilled to see where the Horizons program takes us! We will absolutely be using the Preschool 4 program and Kindergarten. Then, we might move to LIFEPAC and on to Switched-On Schoolhouse. We are total Alpha Omega Publications fans!
