K12 Independent Consumer Direct
K12 is a large secular provider of kindergarten through 12th grade online curriculum currently being used in virtual public and private schools, an international online academy, as well as in homeschools worldwide. Because K12 is a secular curriculum provider, parents from various faiths and cultural backgrounds may find K12 very appropriate for their families' homeschool needs. K12 offers curriculum to homeschoolers via Consumer Direct purchase. Families who purchase the K12 courses directly are not officially enrolled in a K12 school. Independent Consumer Direct is a kindergarten through 8th grade online school program available for purchase by families interested in independently administrated coursework. K12 Independent Consumer Direct provides all the essential tools needed to provide children with a quality education at home.
The K12 curriculum covers six core subjects: language arts/English, math, science, history, art, and music, and is based on time-tested and research-based methods of instruction. K12 delivers lessons, progress and planning tools, teacher's guides, assessments, and learning aids over the Internet. Required supplemental learning materials, such as books, workbooks, CDs, and videos are NOT included in course tuition and must be purchased separately. Independent Consumer Direct courses are not accredited. Purchase of Consumer Direct courses does not include graduation or diploma services.
Finding Your Approach to Homeschooling
Trying to decide between a secular online homeschool curriculum and a Christian distance learning academy for your child? Keep in mind that there is no one perfect answer for homeschooling. Giving the flexibility of using multiple resources instead of one set curriculum, a blended approach to homeschooling is often chosen by many parents. Instead of feeling torn between curriculum and an academy, parents should be open to mixing and matching materials and resources to customize their child's education. Each child is unique and has his own learning style. It's important to choose materials and educational services that best fit the needs of the individual child and of the homeschool family.
Alpha Omega Academy
Alpha Omega Academy (AOA) is an accredited distance learning program for homeschool children in grades K-12. Fully accredited by NCA CASI, AOA offers an at-home education with the convenience of distance learning. Providing qualified teachers, administrative services, and multiple curriculum choices, AOA has enrolled thousands of students from all 50 states and over 42 countries. Great for homeschoolers who are looking for the assurance of accredited courses, AOA offers a high school diploma program and the security of course credits that are readily transferred to other schools and programs. AOA provides families with flexibility in scheduling and completion of assigned coursework. Students must complete coursework within ten months of the start date.
Alpha Omega Academy allows families to choose between Alpha Omega Publications' print-based or computer-based formats. Both curriculum options can be perfectly customized to fit your child's learning needs and educational goals. Both options provide student-paced lessons that can be completed independently with parental supervision. The print-based program requires a parent to grade daily work. All AOP curriculum promotes a solid, Christian worldview. Core courses include Bible, language arts, math, science, and history and geography. Elementary and high school electives are also available. AOA offers both college-prep and general studies diploma tracks. AOA offers a complete line of over 160 academically challenging courses for students in grades K-12. Placement testing, summer school options, academic support, and achievement testing are all available. Full-time or part-time enrollment is offered. A National Honor Society membership (by invitation) and high school graduation ceremony are also available to AOA students.

What Other Parents Are Saying:
"We have served as missionaries to the U.S. military in Germany for over 20 years and have had our kids in Alpha Omega Academy the last seven years. The Academy has done so much to make our lives easier, as we've sought to educate our children. All four of our kids have completed at least some of their education through AOA. To everyone, a big THANK YOU!"
Gib & Kathy W., Germany
"Both of our daughters completed their high school education through AOA. Alpha Omega Academy provided a quality education and counselors who were ready and willing to answer questions and give guidance. Finally, we were very satisfied with the college application process. AOA provided a professional transcript and made available a guidance counselor to send out transcripts, provide information for scholarships, and walk us through the graduation process. We are happy to report that the girls are getting a 3.9 and 4.0 at their university. We have recommended AOA again and again to friends and acquaintances and even strangers! Thank you, AOA!"
Sharon F., New York
"I just wanted to remain anonymous and let AOA know what a great job the staff has done with my child. We are truly blessed to have their help. AOA has proven itself time and again to be the best school we have attended. After trying several pricey private schools, believe me when I say, 'AOA is the best!'"
AOA Parent, Pennsylvania
"Through AOA my daughter gets a Bible-based education from an accredited academy. We now have the assurance of Christian studies supported by professional teachers. It's like a whole team is behind her encouraging her success."
Jerry G., South Dakota
"Hi, I'm Mitchel Musso, or as many know me, Oliver 'Smoken' Oken from Disney Channel's Hannah Montana. I want to say thank you to Alpha Omega Academy. They offer me a chance to work on the gifts and talents that God has given me by making it possible to balance the work on Hannah Montana and other acting and music jobs that I have with my academic schedule. I travel all over the world and can easily take my LIFEPACs with me. I work with different teachers on each new acting job and all of them seem to find that AOA is easy to work with. Thank you, Alpha Omega Academy, for helping my dream come true by allowing me the flexibility I need with my curriculum. I couldn't do it without you!"
